Getting rid of the goats was a necessary albeit discouraging change for us on our little urban farm. I mean are you even a farm without goats? Chickens are basically a backyard pet. Yesterday the girls and I were able to pick our elderberries for the first time. We realized we were harvesting a little too early, so we didn’t harvest much.
It was encouraging to use our little milk pail for something else like berry picking!

One of our big goals for the farm is to grow more and more native plants. Elderberries have grown great even in our shade! We can’t wait till fall to add to our micro forest and enjoy even more berry picking in the years to come.
